We are a group of amateur musicians who meet in Bromsgrove (map) to play traditional English, American, Irish and Scottish dance music. The main purpose of the group is simply to enjoy the music (and each other's company); occasionally we get invited by other organisations to entertain them with background music, or to run a barn dance or ceilidh for them.
We play a variety of instruments, including fiddle, accordion, melodeon, concertina, guitar, electric bass, keyboard, flute, recorder, clarinet, banjo, drums and tuba.
Most of the players work from printed music, which is provided, and a limited amount of teaching is often provided by the more experienced members, several of whom are members of nationally recognised recording bands. Refreshments are provided during the break. There is no annual membership fee; we pay a fixed rate for each meeting we attend (currently £1.50).
For further enquiries about making music with us, or to discuss opportunities for us to entertain the members of your organisation, please contact Karen on 0121 628 5925
